An individualized portfolio solution.

Working with Bireme is simple and easy.

Do you want one company to handle your entire investment portfolio? We'll build you a complete and diversified portfolio through personalized exposure to our five proprietary strategies. We tailor your portfolio to meet your investment philosophy, risk tolerance, and time horizon.

Do you prefer to select from our strategies yourself? You can pick and choose which of the five make the most sense for you.

We're professional investors.

Some wealth managers focus on gathering assets, rather than on generating outstanding investment returns. That's not who you want running your investment portfolio.
Wealth managers are experts in relationship management, not investment management.

At Bireme, we put investing first. Our management team has 14+ years of collective hedge fund experience, where we developed and deployed sophisticated investment strategies and honed our investing skills. We bring that hedge fund mentality and experience, and those strategies, to Bireme's wealth management.

Separately managed accounts.

At Bireme, we use separately managed accounts. You own all your investments, in your brokerage account, in your name.

In contrast, hedge funds and mutual funds are pooled vehicles. Your money is commingled with the money of other investors. Pooled vehicles can come with risks. For example, one study of private equity funds found that managers inflated the valuations of their investments during fund-raising, misleading potential investors.1 The SEC has also stated that funds mishandle fees and expenses over 50% of the time.2

Our structure allows for sophisticated investment strategies while maintaining control, transparency and liquidity for our clients.

Control

You retain control over your account. Bireme has discretionary trading authority only.

Don't let anyone else own your assets. This always comes with hidden risks.

Transparency

You can see account equity, holdings, and trades in real-time.

Don't wait months to find out how your investments are doing. Don't be left wondering what assets you own, or how much they are really worth.

Liquidity

It's your account, so you can withdraw money at any time should you need access to your funds. You'll be invested in only liquid, publicly-traded stocks and ETFs.

Don't be subject to long periods without access to your money. Gating allows fund managers to lock up your investments for months or even years when their strategy goes south. Even mutual funds can be gated.

Dynamic allocation.

Stocks gained 431% during the '90s. Then they lost 9% during the 2000s.3 That's a big difference. Yet some wealth managers 4 recommend allocations based exclusively on age or "goals", and don't adjust for the current market environment. Does that make sense?
Dynamic allocation

Unique strategies.

We're excited about our proprietary investment strategies that cover a wide variety of asset classes. We offer a mix of modern, algorithmic strategies, and tried-and-true, qualitative ones. Choose the strategies that best suit you.
Our strategies

Fiduciary advice.

Hidden fees and kickbacks are rampant in the wealth management industry. The CEA finds5 that conflicted advice costs investors billions of dollars every year. Don't settle for conflicted advice.
Incentive alignment

Active management.

Investment dollars are flowing into passively managed vehicles at record rates. Find out why that might be a good thing for active managers, and why we think Bireme clients are well positioned to take advantage of this opportunity.
Why active management?

Ongoing support.

As a Bireme client, you'll receive substantial ongoing support.

We'll send you simple, easy-to-understand notices any time advisory fees are deducted from your account. As opposed to some other advisors who make money from kickbacks and other conflict-prone sources, every dollar of Bireme's revenue comes from our transparent advisory fees. You always know exactly what you are paying, and why you are paying it.

We'll hold periodic meetings with you. At these meetings, we'll go over your portfolio as well as any questions or concerns you might have. We'll reassess your financial situation and determine the appropriate structure for your portfolio.

Every quarter, you'll receive a customized report. Within, we'll discuss our largest new investments in detail to help you understand how your money is invested. We'll frequently discuss returns to our strategies versus their benchmarks to give you a sense of the broader market forces driving returns. You'll also see your dynamic allocation bands and the current target allocation for each of our strategies.

The quarterly report also includes your total account returns after all costs and accrued fees. The report compares this return to a unique synthetic benchmark designed just for you. By comparing the performance of your account to the performance of your synthetic benchmark, we allow you to objectively assess Bireme's added value.

Does your current wealth manager show your account performance and an appropriate benchmark side-by-side? We do, and we think others should too.
